I kept Chuckers up late last night to work on this one. I feel bad I showed him how to draw a rabbit and not Hads. Don’t worry though I’ll show her today :)

This lesson should be easy enough for the younger artists, and fun enough for the old ones. We’d love to see how your kid’s rabbits turn out, feel free to post photos of their work on our AFK Facebook!

Watch How To Draw A Rabbit

If you’re having trouble watching the video here, watch it on YouTube!

Step By Step

1. First draw a backwards C.

step 1

2. Next draw the rabbit’s first foot, this one happens to be the lucky one :)

step 2

3. Next draw another C shape to finish the back leg.

step 3

4. Now draw the rabbit’s chest.

step 4

5. Draw the second foot.

step 5

6. Now draw the rabbit’s head, be sure to have a small point where the rabbit’s nose will be.

step 6

7. Next draw two long rabbit ears.

step 7

8. Next add the inside of the one ear, and the back of the rabbit’s head.

step 8

9. Then draw the eye and nose. Leave a little white circle in the eye, this is a light catcher. This small detail helps make the rabbit look alive.

step 9

10. Last, don’t forget the tail. Use a zig zag line to help the tail look fluffy.

step 10

That’s one cute looking rabbit or bunny :) Now challenge your kids to practice drawing other rabbits, maybe even a winter wonderland in the background.

    Hi Rob,

I am an art teacher in a k-5 school and I have about 500 kids that I teach. Your website is totally awesome! My classes LOVE following along with you and it gives me a chance to walk around and see how they are doing! Keep doing what you are doing! Thanks so much.

Hi! This tutorial is great! The best part is the dynamic you have with your son! :) I love that you included him in this video because it really helped my kids see that all drawings, even if we are drawing the same thing, aren’t going to be identical. I am going to start using your videos at art time in our homeschool. Thanks for such a great site!

      Hi Colleen,

Sorry for the delay in responding, I’ve been crazy busy. But thank you so much for taking the time to write, means a lot!

Oh my gosh, that is the coolest idea to show the video in your computer class. We get a lot of art teachers telling us they use our videos but you are definitely the first computer teacher…I love it! Such a cool idea.

Chuckers smiled when I showed him your comment, thank you!
