How To Draw A Realistic Skull And Crossbones

Learn how to draw a realistic skull and crossbones!

This lesson is meant for older artists, but if you’re looking for an easier version check out our other skull and crossbones lesson.

Though it may look challenging, we take each step one at a time! Remeber to do your best, have fun, and practice. I hope each time you follow along with us, you try the lesson at least a couple times.

Art Supplies

  • marker
  • paper
  • colored pencils
    • light tan
    • black

Coloring:

I used only two colors to get this look. Use your light tan to do the first layer, be sure to leave a few white spots for highlights. Then use black to add dark shadows and shading.

Lesson Length

  • 10-15 minutes

Bonus Challenge:

Cut your drawing out and glue it to a black sheet of paper. This will make your drawing really pop! Also, draw more skulls and use them to decorate for Halloween!
