Hey art friends! Hadley and I are drawing a really funny box of crayons today. It’s a perfect back-to-school lesson, and you get to pick every color in the box.
Art Supplies:
Markers
Marker paper
Personalization ideas: Swap the yellow box for school colors, pastel, or rainbow. Change the crayon lineup (all one color, neon, glitter, or your six favorites instead of red-orange-yellow-green-blue-purple). Give it a different face: both eyes open, sleepy, or super surprised instead of the wink. Draw the green lid closed, extra open, or leave it off. Add your name on the box, extra crayons peeking out, or a whole row of boxes for your friends.
For teachers and parents: This lesson is a great first-week bulletin board, a “what’s in my crayon box” getting-to-know-you, or a classroom door display where every kid’s box shows their favorite colors. It also pairs well with a back-to-school or color-mixing unit, fine-motor practice with simple rectangles, and homemade welcome cards.
