Hey art friends! Austin and I are drawing a pet hamster today. This little buddy is hanging out in a cozy cage, and you get to pick all the colors.
Art Supplies:
Markers
Marker paper
Personalization ideas: Swap the hamster’s brown and tan for golden, grey, white, or spots. Change the cage colors: a different wheel, hideout, food bowl, or water bottle, and add a name on the cage. Give your hamster a friend, extra toys, or a snack in its paws, or skip the cage and draw just the hamster.
For teachers and parents: This lesson is a great classroom-pet bulletin board, a pet-care getting-to-know-you, or a first-week display where every kid names their hamster and picks a favorite accessory. It also pairs well with a habitats or responsibility unit, fine-motor practice with simple shapes, and homemade welcome cards.
