Hey art friends! Summer is right around the corner, and Hadley and I drew our newest character to kick it off, Bean the Summer Capybara! Bean is a cuddly capybara dressed up for the beach in his or her swimsuit, taking a big juicy bite of watermelon. Hadley chose the name, and Bean was the perfect pick!

The fun part of drawing Bean is giving him his summer outfit. Pick any swimsuit color you love, polka dots, stripes, neon, whatever feels like summer to you! Once you’re done, try adding a background to put Bean somewhere fun. A sandy beach, the ocean with sailboats, palm trees, a beach umbrella, anything goes. Bean is part of our growing AFKH character family, so keep an eye out for him popping up in more summer fun!
