Hey art friends! Hadley and I are introducing you to our newest friend today, Pickle the Axolotl Scientist! Pickle is a sweet pink axolotl who wears a white lab coat with goggles on top of his head, and he’s always working on the next big invention. Today, he’s trying to figure out how to grow magical wings!

Did you know axolotls are real animals? They live in lakes in Mexico and they’re an endangered species, which means there aren’t many left in the wild. That’s part of why we wanted to make Pickle our scientist friend, he loves helping endangered animals and dreaming up ways to save them. The fun part of drawing Pickle is those wiggly feathery gills on the sides of his head, those are what make him an axolotl. Pick your favorite pink shade and bring him to life!
